The Launch of Hyundai Sonata in Pakistan

The eighth-generation Sonata has been launched by Hyundai-Nishat in Pakistan and will compete with luxury sedans like Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. The Hyundai Sonata is a CKD assembled model with a price about three times lower than Toyota Camry (Rs 18,630,000) and nearly half compared to the Honda Accord (Rs 11,999,000). Still, both the Camry and Accord are accessible for import as CBU.

The Hyundai Sonata is manufactured in two distinctive variants at PKR 6,399,000 for 2.0L and PKR 7,099,000 for the 2.5L flagship. The 2.0L engine provides an output of 152 horsepower and a torque of 192 Nm. In contrast, the 2.5L delivers a stunning 191 hp and 245 Nm, combining the two units with a 6-speed automated gearbox transmitting power to the front wheels. A prepayment of PKR 2.0 million for each variant can be booked for the automobile.

Introduction of Hyundai Sonata

The 2021 Hyundai Sonata is a great way to stand out while driving a family sedan. Exaggerated proportions, a prominent grille, and a unique design cue incorporating a spear of bright trim that runs up the front fenders and into the headlights to form what designers describe as a “lighting signature” to round out the bold appearance.

The Sonata’s interior is an innovative, appealing environment packed with exclusive amenities and lots of passenger capacity. While the Sonata is not particularly fast or exhilarating to drive, it does offer three economic engine options, along with a hybrid variant that outperforms the Toyota Camry hybrid in federal fuel-economy ratings.

Transmission and Engine

The Sonata has two engine options: 2000cc and 2500cc. Sonata’s 2000cc engine generates 152hp and 180Nm of torque, whereas the 2500cc engine generates 180hp and 232Nm of torque. Hyundai vehicles include a 6-Speed Automatic transmission as well as four Drive Modes: Smart/Sport/Eco/Custom and Comfort.

The interior of the Hyundai Sonata is appealing and seems more expensive than the sedan’s sticker price suggests. The rear seat is spacious and comfortable, the components are premium, and the dashboard structure is elegant and functional. Both vehicles include leather seats as well as an 8-way power driver seat, a 4-way power passenger seat, and lumbar support for the driving seat. Meanwhile, only the 2500cc Sonata is equipped with a Power Rear Sunshade. The Cluster Display is a 12.3-inch High-Resolution TFT LCD, while the Infotainment Display is an 8-inch TFT LCD.

When it comes to air conditioning, these vehicles include Dual Zone Climate Control with Rear AC vents. They also include a Wireless Charger function. Finally, the 2500cc Sonata has a Head-Up Display (HUD).

Connectivity and Multimedia

The infotainment system is based on an 8.0-inch touchscreen in the center. There is also a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster on SEL models with the Convenience package, SEL Plus, and Limited variants. Hyundai’s latest technological highlight is the Digital Key feature, which allows consumers to use Hyundai’s software and their smartphones to unlock the car through near-field communication (NFC) and control various automobile settings remotely. Drivers would be able to leave the key fob at home if their active habits made carrying one uncomfortable.

The Panoramic Sunroof, which is offered in both Sonatas, is the initial feature that stands out. Tetra LED Projection Headlamps, Gradient Hidden Light Technology DRLs, and Horizontal LED Rear Combination Taillights are standard vehicles. Rear fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers, and 18-inch alloy wheels are also included.

The Hyundai Sonata 2500cc features six airbags, whereas the Sonata 2000cc features only two. Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Traction Control System (TCS), Parking Sensors, Cruise Control, and a Dynamic Guideline Rear Camera are all included features in both cars.
